HEY TEXAS WE ARE HERE ! ! !

Well we have made it to Texas last night, (03,13,08) . We got in to Port Arthur on Tuesday evening , we were told there was a Marina there but it was closed some time ago. They no place to tied up we continued on down the small channel and found a place that we could fit in, so we pulled in and got all tied up and power on and we headed out to find who owned it. We found out who owned it and where he lived but he wasn't home, so we headed down to the restaurant and had some dinner. Then later we were sitting watching TV and the door bell rang, and here was the man we were looking for. He said that it wasn't a public dock, so he would let us stay for $30.00 so we payed him and off he went. The next morning we left and tide was out, so took it slow. Just about to the end and the motor stops, l go to the back and we are stirring up mud big time. So we had to do some backing up and forward action and then we got going again. We didn't hurt our props , cause it was just mud. So out in the ship channel we go. We have had a-lot of barges in this area . This inter coastal is not very wide or deep. It reminds us of the Mississippi.
So we are now down to Galveston Bay and we have to go to the over end of it to get to the Marina cause it is the only one that had room for us. Seeings we are classed as transits and there is limited spaces. So it is 5pm and we have 22 n/m to go across and some very large ships and barges out here and just little old us with our 50 foot boat. We look pretty small compared to those ships. It was good that we had a bit of a wind behind us cause it took us three and a half hrs to cross it and it was getting dark. But we found it with a bit of help from a barge that we had passed. Got in to the marina and found our slip got tight up and boy we were glad to be there. A very nice marina, Jerry is wanting to here when they need him to go back to Virgina to start up the heaters worked on back in sept, nov and dec, there two week job, HA HA LOL. Oh yes we are working on our tans it was 88F here to day. LOLOLOL and loving it.
We have pretty much decided that we are changing the walls all out and in to hard wood flooring on the walls. Check out on my face book l have posted so pic's of the galley, we sure like it. My face book link again is http//www.facebook.com Deanna Bossert photos album.
Hope everyone checks it out.
Well until next time. Dee Jerry & Miko.
